Butcher thrashed for selling “cow” meat

 

Pulwama: Army on Saturday allegedly thrashed a local butcher from Pulwama for selling ‘cow’ meat.

The butcher identified as Subzar Ahmed Mir son of Gulam Mohammad Mir resident of Rakh Litter Pulwama said that three army men barged into his shop and started beating him ruthlessly.

“After beating me to the pulp, they left the shop and warned me to stop selling meat of cows here,” the victim was quoted.

Following the incident, hundreds of people gathered and blocked the Litter-Pulwama road in protest.

Consequently, dozens of vehicles were stranded on the road, creating chaos.

People in large number have assembled there and are demanding justice.

On contacting Tehsildar Litter Mr Muzamil Ahmad, he said that he was on the way, and will give details after reaching the spot.

Duty officer Lassipora Gowhar Ahmed,while talking to Kashmir Vision said that he will look into the matter.
