Zoun Islamic School, Hajin celebrates World Environment Day

BANDIPORA: Zoun Islamic School in Baharabad Hajin on Thursday commemorated World Environment Day with a series of engaging activities aimed at raising awareness and promoting environmental conservation.
Students and staff enthusiastically participated in various initiatives, showcasing their commitment to protecting our planet for future generations.
The day commenced with a special assembly, where students delivered speeches emphasizing the importance of environmental stewardship and the need for collective action to address pressing environmental issues. They highlighted the role of individuals, communities and governments in safeguarding the environment.
Following the assembly, students engaged in tree planting activities within the school premises, contributing to the greenery and biodiversity of the area. Through hands-on experience, they learned about the significance of trees in combating climate change, purifying the air, and providing habitat for wildlife.
In addition to tree planting, the school organized a cleanliness drive in the surrounding areas, promoting the importance of waste management and maintaining clean and hygienic surroundings. Students actively participated in collecting and segregating waste, underscoring the need for responsible waste disposal practices.
Furthermore, the school organized educational workshops and discussions on topics such as sustainable living, renewable energy, and biodiversity conservation.
Speaking on the occasion, SHO Hajin expressed his appreciation for the enthusiastic participation of students and staff in celebrating World Environment Day. He emphasized the school’s commitment to instilling environmental values in students and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility.
