SRINAGAR: The Annual Day celebration, aptly titled “Meeraas”, held at the Tagore Hall Auditorium, on Wednesday, October 30, turned out to be a vibrant homage to the spirit, creativity, and dedication of the students, staff, and parents associated with AHS. With a rich array of performances and an esteemed guest list, the event served as a testament to the school’s commitment to holistic education.
The event commenced with a profound Quranic recitation, setting a respectful tone for the day. Director of AHS extended a warm welcome to attendees, emphasizing the importance of cultural heritage in educational settings. The stage then came alive with captivating performances by students, showcasing their diverse talents.
Among the highlights was a stirring climate song urging audience members to be more environmentally conscious, paired with a traditional Ladishah performance celebrating the rich tapestry of Kashmiri culture. The Judo Highlights segment illustrated the students’ dedication, discipline, and sportsmanship, while the Phonics Songs and heartfelt skits underscored AHS’s commitment to nurturing confidence, creativity, and empathy among its students.
The event was underscored by insightful remarks from the distinguished guests. Chief Guest Mr. Peerzada Farooq Ahmad Shah, a former IAS officer and current MLA, lauded AHS for its educational accomplishments and commitment to moral values. He emphasized the role of education in shaping future leaders rooted in cultural integrity.
Guest of Honour Mr. Mohammad Rafi, former Mission Director, along with Dr. Khalid, ADDC Srinagar, echoed similar sentiments urging the importance of retaining cultural values and language at the forefront of student development.
The program concluded on a high note with a certificate distribution ceremony celebrating the achievements of both students and their mentors.
