SONAMARG: A tragic road accident in the Sonamarg area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Monday morning resulted in the death of a Punjab resident and injuries to six others.
Officials said that a vehicle bearing registration number PB01A-4898, traveling from Srinagar to Kargil with seven passengers on board, skidded off the road at Ranga Mood Zojila.
“In the unfortunate incident, Tarseem Lal, son of Nathu Ram and a resident of Janipor Gurdaspur, Punjab, died on the spot,” they said, adding that the six injured passengers were promptly shifted to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Sonamarg for treatment.
The Sonamarg police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident.
