SRINAGAR: The 1st Sheikh Tulal Memorial Badminton Championship was held at SKISC Gogji Bagh, Srinagar, from February 15 to 17, 2024.
Sheikh Tulal, the former manager of SKISC Srinagar, was a dedicated and well-mannered official of JKSC. He consistently supported sports associations for the promotion of sports in the region. His special affection towards badminton and his efforts in organizing tournaments are deeply missed by the Badminton Association.
We pray to Allah to grant him the highest place in Jannat (Ameen). The tournament was organized by the Srinagar Badminton Association with the cooperation of well-wishers of badminton.
Approximately 150 boys and girls participated in both singles and doubles events during the championship.
Mr. Mahesh from CRPF served as the chief guest, accompanied by other dignitaries including Hakim Nasir Hussain, Nisar Anim, Tariq Bhat, Mohd Saleem, Tariq Khan, Mr. Muzaffar, Fayaz Ahmad, Mr. Zahid, Mansoor Shayir, and Uzair Kathjoo. They distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up.
Special thanks are extended to Sheikh Dawar, son of Sheikh Tulal, and his brother Sheikh Zulfiqar for gracing the occasion and encouraging the organizers. May Allah grant them patience during this difficult time. We are grateful to all the participants for their cooperation.
