JKYF’s Permanent Accountability Commission conducts election

Mohammad Ahsan Rather elected chairman for two-year term with overwhelming support

Srinagar: In a significant development, Mohammad Ahsan Rather has been elected as the Chairman of J&K Yateem Foundation (JKYF) for a two-year term. The election took place on Sunday, and Mr. Rather secured an impressive mandate with 17 out of 18 Central Executive Committee (CEC) member votes at BAITUL HILAL, Jawahar Nagar Srinagar.
The CEC of JKYF, comprising elected executive members from all districts in J&K, conducted the election through a secret ballot, highlighting the transparent and democratic nature of the process. The overwhelming support for Mr. Ahsan demonstrates the confidence and trust the committee members have placed in his leadership.
It’s noteworthy that the provision in the JKYF Constitution, which doesn’t allow an outgoing Chairman to serve three successive terms, led to this election. Mohammad Ahsan Rather, having previously served as the Founding Chairman and in two terms as Chairman, brings a wealth of experience to the role.
Mr. Rather is not only a seasoned leader but also one of the founding members of JKYF since its inception in 2000. The organization’s mission is to serve the poor, deserving, and destitute, irrespective of caste, color, creed, region, or religion. His dedication to the cause and his prior service as a member of JKYF’s Permanent Accountability Commission (PAC) further solidify his commitment to the organization’s values.
The election process was conducted under the vigilant supervision of the PAC, which includes two members, Mohammad Ahsan Rather himself and Dr. Tariq Ahmad Malik.
