Srinagar: A police personnel was killed after hit by a passenger vehicle on Wednesday evening on KP road in Anantnag district of south Kashmir, officials said.
They said a Sumo Vehicle (JK012-1976) hit the 44-year-old police personnel, Mohammad Maqbool Ganie (No 379/SPO) of Shangus of Police Station Mattan at KP road near SIFAR restaurant Bumzoo while he was on duty, resulting in critical injuries to him. The policeman was immediately evacuated to GMC Anantnag where doctors declared him brought dead.
They said vehicle has been seized and driver Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat of Hapatnard Aishmuqam has been arrested. (GNS)
