Residential house gutted in Naidkhai

Bandipora: A two-storey residential house was completely damaged in a fire incident in the Naidkhai area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

Talking to Kashmir Reader, Abdul Rahim Dar, the owner of the house said his two-storey residential house, located in Bazar Mohalla, Naidkhai, caught fire around 02:00 am during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.

Soon after the incident, the neighbours swung into action and were immediately joined by the army, police and Fire & Emergency Department to douse the flames.

The house was completely gutted and items including gold worth lakhs of rupees were razed to ashes, the locals said.

The family has urged the district administration to compensate them for the loss. The cause of the fire is due to a short circuit, officials said.
