BJP,NPP stage walkout

Jammu: Opposition BJP, JKNPP and JSM staged a walkout from Jammu and Kashmir Assembly today over the delay in Mubarak Mandi ropeway project and bad roads in Samba district despite allegedly spending huge funds.
Minister of state for Roads and Buildings (R&B), Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo today informed the J-K Assembly that work on 28 kms long Samba-Mansar road has been taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 3.90 crore against which Rs 3.41 crore have been incurred up to last financial year.
JKNPP, BJP and JSM members protested over the bad condition of roads despite spending crores of rupees, alleging that money have been embezzled and nothing was spend on the roads.
Highlighting dilapidated condition of Samba-Mansar road, they demanded its immediate repair and renovation besides pleading for bringing factual, physical and financial status of the road by conducting an inquiry.
Later they staged walkout from the house over the road and delay in the construction of Mubarak mandi ropeway project.
Assembly Speaker Mubarak Gul today issued directions for an inquiry about the status of work and expenditure incurred on Samba-Mansar road.
The direction was issued as the some members have raised the supplementaries over the road.
The Speaker also directed the R&B minister Kichloo to visit the spot and enquire about the factual progress of the said road.
