Ola unveils S1 X electric scooter with up to 190 KM Range and 8-year battery warranty

Bengaluru: Range anxiety and battery longevity are the two major aspects that most consider while buying an electric vehicle, and the recently announced Ola S1 X claims to solve both issues by offering up to 190 KM range and an eight-year warranty on the battery pack. With a starting price of Rs 79,999 (ex-showroom), the S1 X comes in many flavours with variables such as range and smart connected features.
Here is everything you need to know about the latest Ola S1 X series of electric scooters:
Ola S1X variants
Ola S1X is available in three models — Ola S1 X or the base model with 2/3kWh of battery, Ola S1 X with 4kWh battery, and lastly, the Ola S1 X+ with 3kWh battery with smart connectivity.
Currently, the Ola S1 X with a 2kWh battery is the most affordable electric scooter from the company with a starting price of Rs 79,999, while the 3kWh variant is priced at Rs 89,999 with up to 143 KM range. Similarly, the Ola S1 X+ with 3kWh battery pack and smart connectivity features is priced at Rs 99,999 with up to 153 KM range, and lastly, the Ola S1 X with 4kWh battery and a highest range of 190 KM (IDC) is priced at Rs 1,09,999, which also happens to be the most expensive model of the lot. Do note that these prices are inclusive of the FAME-II Subsidy.
Ola S1 X colour options
All three variants of the Ola S1 X are available in seven colours, including four dual-tone finishes such as Red Velocity, Midnight, Vogue, Stellar, Funk, Porcelain White, and Liquid Silver.
Ola S1 X vs Ola S1 X+
The primary difference between the Ola S1 X and the Ola S1 X+ is the instrument console, while the S1 X+ has a bigger 5-inch segmented LCD, the S1 X (all three variants) has a slightly smaller 4.3-inch segmented LCD, and the S1 X with 4kWh battery also comes with a 750W charger, while the S1 X+ comes with a 500W charger, due to this, the S1 X charges much quicker than the S1 X+, despite having a bigger battery.
The Ola S1 X+ also offers smart features like remote unlock, navigation, predictive maintenance, and GPS connectivity. The Ola S1 X also comes with a physical key, while the S1 X+ can be unlocked with just a PIN code.
Ola S1 X series performance figures
Like most electric scooters, the Ola S1 X offers impressive performance figures with the ability to accelerate from 0 to 40KM/s in 3.3 seconds, a top speed of 90KM/hr, and up to 190KM (IDC) range on the variant with 4kWh battery.
Ola S1 X battery warranty
Ola is offering 8 years of warranty or up to 80,000 KMs on every Ola S1 variant for free of cost, which includes 100 per cent defect coverage, and users can also top-up the battery warranty for up to 1,25,000 KM for Rs 12,999. The batteries featured on the Ola S1 X series offer technologies like IP 67 rating for water and dust resistance, greater thermal efficiency, and one can also transfer the ownership of the battery when one sells their scooter. However, the 8-year battery warranty is not applicable on the base variant of the Ola S1 X with a 2kWh battery.
How to book the Ola S1 X series
The Ola S1 X series is currently available for pre-order, where, users can also opt for EMI plans from partner banks and one can also get up to a 5 per cent discount of up to Rs 5,000 by using select credit cards.
