BARAMULLA: Famous saint of north Kashmir, Peer Mohammad Shafi Geelani locally known as Shafi Sahib resident of Boniyar Uri, area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district passed away on Tuesday evening.
Family sources said that 93 years old Peer Mohammad Shafi Geelani was sick from past few months and took his last breath at their home Tuesday evening.
Thousands of people from across the north Kashmir and some from other districts of valley participated in his funeral prayers under proper Covid 19 guidelines on Wednesday morning which was held at Children’s Park Boniyar Uri.
People from all walks of life, religious leaders, politicians, government officials and other have expressed deep grief and shock over the demise of Peer Mohammad Shafi .
