DUBAI: Indian batting trio of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill all made up ground in the ICC Men’s ODI batting rankings after their performances in the recently concluded series against England.
Gill managed 188 runs across the three matches to close within one rating point of Daryl Mitchell (802 Rating Points) at the top, while Kohli (767 Points) and Rohit (758 Points) are also within striking distance.
Joe Root, who was named Player of the Series for scoring 249 runs without being dismissed, rose four places to move to eighth in the rankings.
England teammates Ben Duckett (up 11 spots to equal 19th) and Jacob Bethell (up five rungs to 64th) also made up places on the list.
Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan remains at the top in the bowling rankings, which saw some big movement for Jofra Archer, who rose to third.
Kiwi all-rounder Michael Bracewell achieved a career-high rating in the all-rounders’ ranking and moved up to third behind Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai and Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hazan Miraz.
