Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chief Yasin Malik was arrested in Srinagar on Friday to prevent him from taking part in a Muharram procession, said a spokesman.
He said that Malik was arrested from his Abi Guzar office.
“A police party reached at the JKLF office and arrested Malik sahab. He has been arrested to prevent his participation in Muharram processions,” said the spokesman.
