KTA delegation calls on SMC Commissioner

SRINAGAR: A delegation from the Kashmir Trade Alliance (KTA) met with Dr Owais Ahmad, the Chief Executive Officer of the Smart City Project Srinagar and Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation on Wednesday to discuss issues related to the ongoing smart cities projects.
The meeting aimed to address the traders’ concerns over the slow implementation of smart city initiatives, which has exacerbated problems for local businesses, the KTA said in a statement.
Aijaz Shahdhar, President of KTA said the delegation urged the CEO to accelerate the pace of work on smart cities projects.
“We raised the issue of the sluggish pace of smart city projects which has compounded the problems of businessmen. The CEO assured us that they will enhance the workforce, and ensure the timely completion of the projects,” Shahdhar said.
According to the KTA, Dr Ahmad promised that the smart city work underway at Karan Nagar will be completed soon, as it is a top priority for the administration.
The delegation comprised of senior KTA members including Sabit Ali, Sajad Hyder, Fayaz Nadaf, Sajad Din, Zahoor Tantray, Nasir Malik, and Sheikh Ajaz. They expressed optimism that the meeting would lead to expedited progress on the smart cities initiatives, which are aimed at improving infrastructure and quality of life in Srinagar.
The traders’ body said they will continue to collaborate closely with the Smart City Project authorities to ensure the timely completion of the strategic development projects in Kashmir’s summer capital.
