Govt Middle School Meej Pampore organises trekking to Wahab Sahab Wasturwan forests

PAMPORE: Government Middle School organized a trekking programme at the Wahab Sahab forest area of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday. It was flagged off by headmistress Rukiya Tabasum in the presence of other staff members of GBMS Meej Pampore.
About 30 students of the government boys Middle School Meej participated in the daylong programme.
In order to popularize adventure activities among the students of GBMS Meej Pampore, the institute organized the one-day trekking trip of the season.
A team of 29 students and 9 staff members under the supervision of Headmistress Rukiya Tabasum and M.A Bhat Physical Education Teacher (REK).
The trekking started from the school point at 8:30 am and reached the base camp Wahab Sahab at 9.30 am where the students were briefed about the benefits of participation in trekking and other adventure activities, officials said.
The students were informed about the positive efforts on the physical and psychological health of the individual by taking part in it.
Trekking is a refreshing and rewarding outdoor activity that provides numerous mental and physical benefits, particularly for school students who often face challenges of academic pressure.
Regular hikes can help to alleviate stress, Improve mood, and enhance cognitive abilities while promoting physical fitness through cardiovascular exercise, strength building, and increased flexibility, a teacher M A Bhat told Kashmir Reader.
“Nature is the biggest teacher it teaches us various skills. As rightly said Earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountains and the sea are excellent schoolmasters, and teach us more than we can ever learn from books. Mountains teach us to be strong and stand tall,” Bhat said.
The students thanked the school administration especially headmistress Rukiya Tabasum and M A Bhat Physical Education Teacher (REK) for arranging such a memorable day out.
