Sumbal: Government Degree College Sumbal on Tuesday organised an Extension lecture on the theme”Plastic waste and its management’ .
The programme was chaired by principal of GDC Sumbal Prof(Dr.) Shabeena Iqbal Shawl.Dr. Shabeena In her presidential address talked in length about waste and its management.
She stressed upon the participants to reduce the use of plastic as much as we can, because that’s one of the major options available with us given the dependence of plastic in today’s world.
The Principal also assured to declare GDC Sumbal campus as Plastic free Zone in coming days.
Dr. Mubashir Jeelani delivered an extension lecture on the occasion, wherein he extensively spoke about the hazards of excessive use of plastic in our day to day life.
This event was attended by Dr. Aadil Mohi ud din,Dr Mehraj Ud din, Prof.Bashir, Prof Rafiq Lone, Ahmad ,Dr.Fahim Ul Hassan,Dr. Hilal Ahmad and Dr. Majida Maqbool Prof. Reyaz Ah.Kuchay, Dr. Riffat Basharat and Prof. M Iqbal Rather are students and NSS volunteers of the college .
Speakers on the occasion emphasized on the hazards of plastic waste and how it is poisoning every component of our environment.
They urged upon the audience if you can’t control the plastic but at least we can play our part by reducing its usage .Dr.Mehraj Ud Din presented a vote of thanks,Dr.Aadil Mohi ud din NSS Program officer of the college welcomed the guests, while Dr.Aabida Akhtar carried out the proceedings of the event.
The event was organised by the NSS Unit of the college in collaboration with the Department of Environmental Sciences.
