BHADERWAH: Municipal Committee Bhaderwah today conducted door to door awareness about segregation of waste under the theme “Kachra Alag karo Amrit Diwas” to mark the celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav. T-shirts, Caps and pamphlets with the message on segregation of Wet and Dry waste at source were distributed in different wards.
A massive rally was organised which started from Passri Adda and after passing through the main market, it culminated at Mohala Khakal.
Awareness regarding door to door collection and segregation of waste at source before disposal in the municipal vehicles was highlighted by the MC staff.
President MCB, Dr Shahid Mughal, Executive Officer MCB Yousuf ul Umar & Vice President, Rishi Kotwal and other elected members accompanied the MC staff during the door to door campaign. Two dustbins each (blue and green), were also distributed among the households. The Executive officer Municipal Committee requested the residents to pay user charges in time so that sanitation facilities would be upgraded accordingly. The programs under Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav will last till 3rd of October.
