HANDWARA: An elderly man was injured in a bear attack in Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday morning.
Bashir Ahmad Mir 60 son of Mohammad Ramzan Mir, a resident of village Dodipora Handwara was on way to their orchards when a black bear attacked and injured him before other people nearby reached the spot and chase the beast
The injured was immediately shifted to nearby health centre where he was shifted to district hospital Handwara for further treatment.
The condition of the injured was said to be stable when last reports came in.
Later a team of wildlife officials rushed to the spot to catch the beast, but was unable so far.
