Pampore: Joint Director Kashmir Geology and Mining department, Nisar Ahmad inaugurated a sub-office building at Khrew area of Pampore in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
District Mineral Officer (DMO) Pulwama, Altaf ul Rasool and other officials of Geology and Mining department were present on the occasion.
Later Joint Director Geology and mining held a meeting with District Mineral Officer Pulwama Altaf Ul Rasool and officials.
” We have inaugurated a building which will serve as an office for employees of Geology and Mining, this will function as a sub-office for District Pulwama,” Joint Director, Nisar Ahmad told Kashmir Reader.
He added that the setting of this office will help in intensifying monitoring extraction of minerals.
” Vehicles which will be caught in illegal transportation of minerals will be seized here,” he said.
He also warned illegal miners of strict action as per law.
“We will facilitate legal mining which is done after getting proper permission and following requisite norms,” he said, adding that illegal miners will be severely dealt with.
He said that they are exploring the possibility of setting up sub-offices at different places for improving monitoring.
