They added that they are facing tremendous hardships in absence of JK Bank branch in the area. “We are being forced to cover lot of distance to reach bank branches, resulting in wastage of time and money,” they said.

The villages demanding opening of new branch include Briangan, Cherpora,Chaklipora Mahdifal, Kreeri, Bonard Shairgund, Buchan, Kraad Gusianwoodr, Shikhpora  Khanpora,  Chandarwada, Hapatkhud and others.

The villagers appealed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to intervene and solve their problem as soon as possible.

Zonal Head of JK Bank, Imtiyaz Ahmed said that the locals of the area are still undecided over the location of the new branch.

He added that it is not possible to open branch in every village, therefore it stands the responsibility of people to decide where to open new branch in the area.
