As a Kashmiri, I have often found myself in situations that reaffirm my belief in the inherent goodness of humanity. We, Kashmiris, are no exception; in fact, we excel in our unwavering willingness to help others, whether it is our own or strangers in need.
My recent accident served as a poignant reminder of this unparalleled kindness. Though the incident itself wasn’t severe, the location could have spelt disaster. Yet, in this ‘paradise on earth,’ I experienced the epitome of selflessness.
Lying on the ground, blood oozing from my hands, my scooty in shambles, a bike rider stopped and became my guardian angel. He offered strength, cleared my clothes, and rushed me to the hospital, providing unwavering support. His selflessness left me awestruck.
This isn’t an isolated incident; countless stories weave the tapestry of Kashmiri compassion. Strangers become saviours, neighbours become family, and communities come together to uplift each other.
We Kashmiris embody the essence of empathy, hospitality, and kindness. Our cultural heritage and resilient spirit forge a unique bond, transcending adversity and fostering unity.
Voluntarily helping the needy, supporting local causes, and standing against injustice – these actions aren’t unusual in Kashmir. They define us.
In the face of challenges, we find strength in our shared humanity. Our hearts beat for each other, and our actions echo the phrase: “We are better than the most.”
This unwavering conviction stems from our collective experiences, historical resilience, and an unshakeable faith in the goodness of humanity.
So, let us celebrate this unyielding spirit, this Kashmiri essence that makes us beacons of hope and compassion.
Our hospitality, known as “Kashmiriyat”, is legendary. Guests are treated like royalty, and strangers become lifelong friends.
In Kashmir, we’ve learned to find joy in the simple things – a warm cup of kahwa, a breathtaking sunset over the Zabarwan hills, or a hearty laugh with neighbours.
Through our shared struggles, we’ve developed an unbreakable bond, a sense of belonging that transcends borders and divisions.
As we navigate life’s challenges, we Kashmiris hold onto our values: compassion, resilience, and kindness. In a world that often seems divided, our unwavering spirit shines as a beacon of hope. Let us continue to embody this spirit, inspiring others with our selflessness and generosity.
