New Delhi: The Residential Coaching Academy (RCA), Centre for Coaching and Career Planning, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), is set to open the applications for free coaching (with a hostel facility) for the preparation of the UPSC Civil Services examination 2025. Candidates belonging to minority, SC, ST and women communities can apply for this programme. While the application window will open on March 18, the last date to submit the application form (online only) is May 19. Interested candidates can register at jmicoe.in.
The university will conduct entrance examinations to shortlist candidates for the free coaching programme for UPSC CSE at the ten centres – Delhi, Srinagar, Jammu, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Mumbai, Patna, Lucknow, Bengaluru, and Malappuram.
This year, as many as 100 seats are available. Hostel accommodation is compulsory and will be made available to all the enrolled students. In the case of scarcity, hostel seats may be prioritised exclusively based on the merit obtained in the entrance test.
The selection of applicants includes an entrance test and interview. The written test is scheduled to be held on June 1.
The exam will be divided into two parts- paper 1 and 2. While paper 1 is general studies, paper 2 is essay writing. Paper 1 will consist of objective type questions only. The paper 1 carries 100 marks whereas paper 2 carries 60 marks. On the basis of the merit obtained in paper 1 (MCQ test marks), the essays of only the top 900 students will be evaluated. The interview carries a total of 40 marks and it will be held online.
