Akhilesh Yadav joins Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Agra

Agra: Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday joined Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Agra. Addressing a huge gathering, Yadav expressed his gratitude towards Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi and participants of the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’.
“I want to express my gratitude and thanks to Rahul Gandhi ji, Smt. Priyanka Gandhi ji and all the workers and public who are going on ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’. I am happy that Rahul Gandhi ji, who has started the shop of love, is now in Agra. Agra is a city of love, so collect love from here and keep spreading it throughout your journey,” said the SP chief.
The SP boss cornered the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government over the issue of paper leaks and questioned the latter’s intention to provide employment.
“There is no recruitment exam of UP government in which paper is not leaked. This government deliberately leaks the paper because its intention is not to provide employment,” the former UP chief minister said.
He called on people to uproot the BJP government to save the democracy and the constitution of the country.
“Today the challenge is to save democracy and the Constitution. Therefore remove BJP, save the country and end the crisis,” Yadav said.
Yadav’s decision to join Rahul Gandhi’s yatra came after his Samajwadi Party and the Congress announced a seat sharing pact for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
As per the agreement, the Congress party will contest on 17 of the 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, including stronghold Amethi and Raebareli. The SP and other smaller constituents of the Opposition’s INDIA alliance will contest the remaining 63 seats.
The former CM was previously invited to attend the yatra, which entered UP on January 16, on at least two occassions but he denied. The Samajwadi Party had said that he will join the Yatra only after a seat-sharing alliance is finalised.
