SKUAST-K, Pulwama girl shine at ATARI Zone-1 Foundation Day

Recognition underscores university’s commitment to promoting innovation, advancements in agriculture

Pampore: The Foundation Day of Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI) Zone-1 in Ludhiana witnessed a celebration of agricultural innovation, drawing participation from Krishi Vigyan Kendra’s (KVK’s) across Kashmir and Ladakh. Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Kashmir (SKUAST-K) emerged as a standout performer, clinching prestigious awards and accolades.
Led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganaie and guided by Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi, Director Extension, the contingent from KVKs showcased cutting-edge agricultural technologies and products, earning SKUAST-Kashmir the coveted title of the best performer among the 72 KVKs in the North Zone.
KVK Malangpora head Prof. Javaid Ahmad Mugloo informed Kashmir Reader that SKUAST-Kashmir secured the best Exhibition award, demonstrating its dedication to innovation and excellence in agriculture. Additionally, KVK Kulgam was recognized as the best performer from Kashmir, adding another accolade to the agricultural community in the region.
The foundation day celebrations also honored three farmers from SKUAST-Kashmir with the prestigious Best Farmer award. Khairul Nissa, a young girl from Pulwama, Danish Wani from Kupwara, and another farmer from Kargil were lauded for their outstanding contributions and achievements in agriculture.
These recognitions underscored SKUAST-Kashmir’s commitment to promoting innovation and advancements in agriculture. The foundation day event served as a platform for farmers to showcase their skills, exchange knowledge, and celebrate collective achievements in the agricultural sector.
The acknowledgment of these farmers not only highlights their individual accomplishments but also emphasizes SKUAST-Kashmir’s pivotal role in fostering a culture of excellence and sustainability in agriculture. The Ludhiana festivities on the foundation day reinforced the dedication and hard work of these farmers, emphasizing the significance of recognizing and promoting advancements in the agricultural sector.
