GDC Kilhotran adopted Govt. Girls High School Kilhotran

Kishtwar: As a part of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign of Government of India Government Degree College Kilhotran adopted Govt. Girls High School Kilhotran under the supervision and patronage of College Principal Dr. Javid Iqbal Zargar. The objective of the adoption is to motivate and encourage the girl students of the school to pursue higher education and achieve success in the life. In this regard a visit of the school students to the College was organized on 29th September, 2022.
The students were accompanied by Mr. Noor-ul-Hassan Wani, Science teacher working in the school. The children were made to visit Botany and Zoology labs besides the library of the College. The students were introduced to the use of ICT/smart boards in the teaching-learning process. Dr. Javid Iqbal Principal of the college spoke on the occasion that value based education lays emphasis on the personality development of individuals in order to shape their future and tackle difficult situations with ease.
He told the students importance of value education can be understood through its benefits as it develops physical and emotional aspects, teaches mannerism and develops a sense of brotherhood, instills spirit of patriotism as well as develops religious tolerance in students. Dr. Barket Ali, Associate Professor of Botany delivered a motivational talk and made the students aware about the environmental challenges and possible measures to countering the climate change, in addition to encourage the students to work hard in order to achieve success in the life. The other staff members who participated in this extension programme include Prof. Ashwani Kumar, HOD Hindi, Prof. Arshad Ayoub, HOD Pol. Science, Dr. Barket Ali, HOD Urdu, Prof. Majid Gani, HOD Economics, Prof. Chanchal Singh, HOD Education, Mr. Vinay Manhas, (PTI), Prof. Deepak Raj, HOD English. The programme was arranged under the aegis of IQAC of the College and the formal vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Tanveer Hussain, HOD History, and Convener IQAC of the College.
