Srinagar: SKUAST-Kashmir hosted a key two day 6th Deans’ Committee Meeting, steering the National Curriculum of Agricultural Education under New Education Policy NEP-2020. Dr. TejPratap former Vice-Chancellor SKUAST-K and Chairman 6th Deans’ Committee along with 12 eminent Deans from Agricultural Universities across the Nation and SKUAST-K working group on Aligning Agri-education with NEP attended the meeting. This meeting was a sequel to SKUAST-Kashmir working Model of higher education developed under IDP-NAHEP that was recently presented by Vice-Chancellor SKUAST-K Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai at Vice-Chancellors’ Conference.
Director General, ICAR Dr. TrilochanMohapatra appreciated the parallelism between SKUAST-K working model and NEP-2020 and desired the Key Meeting of Deans be hosted at SKUAST-Kashmir. The 6th Deans Committee in its two day deliberations in principle adopted the broad contours of SKUAST-K working model for Agricultural Education under NEP-2020. The event validated SKUAST-K’s resolve to lead changes in Higher Education in Agriculture at National Level.
