J&KWDC holds Awareness camp cum Loan Mela

JAMMU: To mark the celebration of International Women’s Day, Jammu and Kashmir Women’s Development Corporation organized Mega Awareness camp cum Loan Mela here at Roop Nagar, on the other day.
The programme was sponsored by National Minorities Development & Finance Corporation (NMDFC) Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India.
Around 500 members from various self help groups from far-flung areas of Samba, Kathua and Jammu participated in this function.
The camp was inaugurated by Parshotam Singh Pattan, President, Sharika Vihar Colony, Roop Nagar Muthi who was also the Chief Guest.
The staff of JKWDC highlighted various activities and achievements of Women’s Development Corporation which has immensely contributed towards the empowerment of the women and requested the gathering to come forward and work jointly for their rights and stand on their own feet and make their life prosperous.
Shagun Manchanda, Women Welfare Officer, Mahila Shakti Kendra Jammu, who was the guest of honour, said that woman empowerment would lead to political and social justice once two wheels of human cycle move together.
She further added that the success of few women cannot be attributed to all, ‘thus we need to empower each woman’. She laid great stress on availing the benefits of the schemes of WDC.
The Chief Guest, in his address, appreciated the efforts of WDC for conducting such a big event and requested the participants to come -forward and avail the benefits of the schemes of the Department.

The vote of thanks was presented by Nasreen Gul, District Manager, Jammu.
