Regional Director land records visits Pampore

PAMPORE: Regional Director Land Records South Kashmir Dr Abdul Hafeez Shah on Tuesday visited Saffron Town Pampore area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama where he participated in a mega sensitization programme on Land Records Information System, LRIS.
The mega publicity and sensitisation programme on Land Records Information System, LRIS, was organised by Tehsil Administration Pampore at Town Hall Pampore under the chairmanship of Regional Director Land Records South Dr Abdul Hafeez Shah (KAS).
Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din, Naib Tehsildar Pampore Mohammad Ameen, Naib Tehsildar Khrew Bashir Ahmad, Tehsil official Mir Murwat Hussain and Executive Officer Municipal Committee Pampore Mohammad Ameen present on the occasion.
The programme was also attended by the field functionaries of the Revenue department including Patwaris, Lumberdars and Chowkidars. PRI members and farmers from all across the jurisdiction of Tehsil Pampore also participated.
Regional Director Land Records Anantnag, Dr Abdul Hafeez Shah revealed that the initiative has put the revenue records in public domain and will facilitate easy online access to the Land Records and the general public can register grievances related to their land if any. He also presented the details of all the initiatives being undertaken by the government in the modernisation programme of land records. Several queries raised by the farmers were replied to and they were assured of all possible support regarding issues pertaining to land records.
“To bring more transparency in land revenue records a mega sensitization programme is being carried out in all district and Tehsil headquarters of South Kashmir,” Regional Director Land Records South Dr Abdul Hafeez Shah told Kashmir Reader.
He asked people and land owners to access the website and see if there are any discrepancies that should be brought to them for rectification.
Speaking on the newly introduced mega initiative of J&K Government towards modernisation of Land Records, Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din threw light on the highlights of the programme that is aimed at easy online availability of land records for the general public.
A live demonstration was presented by Tehsildar Pampore to acquaint the participants about how to access the records through designated website. Tehsildar Pampore revealed that merely after a few easy steps on a computer or mobile phone, everyone can now view, check and download all the details of his or her land. Public users can search and view copies of Scanned data online on CIS Portal- http://landrecords.jk.gov.in/ which includes Jamabandis, Girdawaris, Masavis, Mutations etc.
Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din told Kashmir Reader that more such camps shall be organised to involve PRIs and other stakeholders in coming days and aggressive sensitisation shall be carried out so that people can take benefits of the Govt’s major initiative aimed at modernisation of land records.
