SRINAGAR: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation of Sunday conducted a special sanitation/ cleanliness drive under Sunday for Srinagar initiative along the STP road Babadem, old Barzulla Bund upto flood Channel Tengpora and other adjoining areas.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner SMC Athar Amir Khan besides participating in the drive also visited Dargah Hazratbal to take stock of sanitation and other allied functions and tasks to be taken care of by SMC in view of the upcoming Eid Milaad.
He has directed to ensure proper sanitation and functioning of street lights on the occasion so that devotees visiting the shrine do not face any inconvenience .
SMC teams are doing continuous intensive sanitation around the Hazratbal Shrine with dedicated teams for management of stray animals being put at site.
