Traders hold protest in Sopore after fruit dealer goes missing

Baramulla: Members of trader’s federation Sopore and other people staged a protest on Saturday at the fruit Mandi Sopore against the authorities who, according to them, have failed to trace a trader from the Achabal village of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
According to family sources Gulam Nabi Naiko, 47 a fruit trader of Achabal village of Rafiabad Baramulla went missing on September 22 when he went to south Kashmir’s Shopian district for some work but could not return to his home.
They said that the family registered a missing complaint in Sopore police station and police assured them that they will trace the missing person but two weeks have passed and the missing person is still untraced, due to which the family of the trader are in a shock.
On Saturday morning the traders, family members and other people took to the streets and staged a protest in front of the main gate fruit Mandi in apple town Sopore, shouting slogans, demanding that police and other security agencies should trace the missing man.
Meanwhile, a police officer said that police are investigating and hope they will trace the missing person soon.
