Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Awantipora and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
Police party of Police Post Reshipora at a checkpoint established at Panzgam Awantipora intercepted two persons identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Gani Dar and Mohd Subhan Dar son of Gh Mohd Dar both residents of Panzgam. During checking, officers were able to recover 40 kgs of grinded Cannabis concealed in two nylon bags. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 175/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Awantipora and further investigation set into motion.
