Four houses, two sheds damaged in fire at Chadoora Budgam

BUDGAM: Four residential houses, one cowshed and woodshed were gutted after a fire incident took place at Mukam village in the Chadoora tehsil in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday evening.
An official from the fire service station Chadoora told the Kashmir Reader that they received the fire call at 4:45 Pm on Thursday , however the blaze was brought under control by 11:00 Pm on Thursday night.
“After the fire station Chadoora received the emergency call, we reached the spot immediately to doused the flames and saved the property’’ he said.
Officials said that nearly 1.5 crore worth of property was involved in the fire incident, in which 1.10 crore property have been saved and worth 40 lakh property have been damaged in the fire incident.
“Four residential houses, one cowshed and one wooden shed have been damaged without any loss of life and injury. Due to a short circuit in the HT line the fire incident took place in the area’’ He said.
The residential house were belonged to the Shabeer Ahmad Dar Son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Dar whose top storey of the building have got fully damaged, however another two storey building were belonged to the Mohammad Yaqoob Dar son of Ghulam Nabi Dar, top storey of the building a suffered got partially damaged.
The other houses belonged to the Ghulam Rasool Dar Son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar and Mukhtar Ahmad Dar Son of Ghulam Rasool Dar were living in the one storey building that have been got fully damaged, however their cowshed and wooden shed have been also get damaged in the fire incident.
However the other one storey building that got fully damaged in the fire incident were living three families including Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh, Mustaq Ahmad Sheikh and Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh.
The official said that the fire service vehicle which was coming from the district fire headquarters Budgam also met with an accident which took place only half a kilometer away from the spot where the fire incident took place, in which six employees of the fire services department Budgam received minor injuries.
“All the six employees have been referred to the nearby hospital and they will be provided the treatment there and all the employees are stable in condition . The employees who have been injured in the accident include Bashir Ahmad Baba (SPO), Rajinder Singh, Kaiser Ahmad, Abdul Rashid, Zahoor Ahmad Shah, and Shahid Ahmad (Driver),” the official added.
