PULWAMA: The Forest department on Tuesday evening seized a vehicle along with illegal timber in Drabgam area of Pulwama during the intervening night of Tuesday.The arrested driver was identified as Javid Ahmad Rather son of Mohammad Sultan, resident of Budgam.
“The driver was taken in custody and further investigation is going on and an FIR will be lodged in the concerned Police Station,” Officials said.
DFO Shopian Forest Division Sheikh Ayoub told Kashmir Reader.the Forest Control Room Pulwama after receiving specific information about the illegal timber being smuggled in a load carrier. The vehicle bearing registration number JK14A-4419 at Drabgam and on inspection of illicit timber of Fir variety measuring 48.18 cfts was seized along with the vehicle. One accomplice of the driver was arrested.
