Pampore: District Mineral Officer Pulwama (DMO) Altaf Ul Rasool has seized 24 vehicles used in illegal mining and transportation of raw materials from different areas of Pulwama district during raids in last two days.
DMO Pulwama along with his team conducted raids in different areas of Pampore including Khrew and other parts of Pulwama district to check illegal mining, extraction and transportation of raw materials.
During this drive 24 dumpers and tippers used in illegal mining, transportation of raw materials illegally extracted were seized in Khrew Pampore and other areas of Pulwama district, officials from Geology and mining department told Kashmir Reader.
“We are repeatedly saying that we will be acting tough against illegal mining, we are trying to discourage it, it was in this context that a drive has been launched in Pulwama during which around 24 vehicles have seized throughout the district,” DMO Pulwama, Altaf Ul Rasool, told Kashmir Reader.
He advised consumers for purchase minerals from legal sources only and stay away from illegal miners.
” We have been seizing vehicles found involved in illegal transportation of minerals and registered FIRs too,” he said.
