Mass vaccination,sampling starts at Pampore

PAMPORE: A team of health and revenue department officials under supervision of Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din started vaccination of shopkeepers, butchers and left out residents on Sunday during vaccination cum awareness drive.
During the drive many people were administered COVID-19 jabs by a medical team while Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din along with other revenue officials was seen mobilising public support for the vaccination. The teams visited people at their houses clearing their misconception about COVID vaccine.
“For the last couple of days aggressive RAT and RTPCR sampling is going on in the Pampore area, during this period only 6,000 tests have been conducted,” Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din told Kashmir Reader, adding that positivity has been significantly brought down. ” The current positive rate is around 1.5 percent against 10 percent a week ago, in addition a door to door vaccination drive has been started for people of 45 plus age group so that this group is cent per vaccinated,” he said, appealing people of 45 plus age to come forward for vaccination to defeat COVID-19. Meanwhile, Dr. Mohammed Ashraf, Registered Medical Officer (RMO), Sub District Hospital Pampore told Kashmir Reader that they have been carrying out a mass sampling and mass vaccination drive in every area of Pampore medical block in accordance with orders from Deputy Commissioner Pulwama. ” Today we vaccinated truck drivers from outside Jammu and Kashmir at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) plant Pampore and other areas, 16 drivers were also tested at HPCL,” he said.
He appealed to people for getting their vaccine shots at earliest and advised symptomatic persons for sampling.
