Drug peddler arrested in Budgam, contraband recovered

Budgam: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested a notorious drug peddler in Budgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Officers from Police Station Chadoora at a checkpoint established at Gopalpora Chadoora signalled a suspicious person to stop. However, he tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully by the alert party. He has been identified as Arif Ahmed Rah son of Ali Mohammad Rah resident of Umer Colony Bemina Srinagar. During checking, officers were able to recover 35 grams of charas & 120 capsules of Spasmoproxyvon from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station Chadoora where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 49/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Chadoora and investigation has been taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
