BUDGAM: The district administration Budgam on Sunday have registered an FIR and seized the brick kilns who were selling the bricks upon the higher rates in various destinations of the district.
In the last year 2020, the district administration Budgam have fixed the rates of the pacca bricks commonly known as the ” A” Grade bricks as Rs 21,000 per 3,000 bricks including all taxes, loading and unloading charges except transportation.
During the inspection conducted by the district administration at various locations of the district , some of the brick kilns owners were found involved in overcharging bricks at high rates.
The on spot fine was imposed against the violators and have seized 3 vehicles.
Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza said that no brick kiln owner shall be permitted to overcharging.
While appealing to the general public Mirza said the people should contact his office to register complaints against brick owners who are violating government approved rates.
However, the Tehsildar Budgam have issued the public notice which reads whereas a different complaint received by the locals regarding sale of bricks excess to the government rate fixed at the rate of Rs 21000.
“Whereas some raids were carried out in different places of tehsil Budgam and during the raids a number of FIR lodged against the brick kilns owners”, notice said
The notice reads the brick kilns owners will publish rate list at their brick kilns locations and not harass the general public by taking excess charges as well as not to sell substandard material.
” Any laxity by a person shall be viewed seriously and he will be fined as well as FIR will be lodged under the provisions of brick kilns act 2010″, orders said.
