2 held for chopping of walnut trees in Budgam

Budgam: The two persons from the Rathsun village of Beerwah tehsil in Budgam district have been arrested by the police for chopping walnut trees in the area.
SHO of Beerwah police station, Athar Samad told the Kashmir Reader that the two persons have been arrested from the Rathsun village after they were found chopping off the walnut tree in the area.
The chopping down of certain species of tress including Walnut, Mulberry and Chinar is a punishable offence under Preservation of Specified Trees Act 1969.
