DIS establishes 1st M S Dhoni Cricket Academy

SRINAGAR: Doon International School(DIS) Srinagar is now enlisted as an affiliated training center under the aegis of M S Dhoni Cricket Academy with other 25 centers across the country, a statement issued by the school claimed.
“ By the opening of Academy it will provide a rare opportunity and a coaching venue for the neighborhood society to groom young cricketing talents in Kashmir under the supervision of expert coaches and the legendry master M S Dhoni, for the first time, the statement read.”
The schedule of the first phase of the training session under the care and guidance of renowned experts will commence from the month of April 2021 in the school premises. Upon successful completion of the first set of training; student-trainees will be sent for second course of specialized coaching to the main MS Dhoni cricket academy at Chennai.
Meanwhile, the ground and the training facilitiesin the school campus will soon get a face lift under the direct supervision of experts from M S Dhoni cricket academy, Chennai.
School management, in spite of the intimidating hurdlesaffecting educationdue to pandemic, has gone overboard in spending huge sum of money to initiate a unique sporting venture to enable a long-cherished dream get nourished in reality, in cricket loving students of the region.
According to the statement chairman DIS, Showkat Hussain Khan is leaving no stone unturned to promote sporting excellence in cricket in the valley. He also has a very laudable intention of catering training opportunity for young players of the locality and ready to provide sports scholarships to promising young cricketers being trained in the school campus besides his own school students.
In spite of all odds, the school brings the techniques and maneuversof the “ the master hitting helicopter shots” at the learners’ door steps.
The statement further reads “DIS Srinagar truly has become instrumental in bringing a new phase of mental-cum- physical transformation in the life of the young Kashmiri students and in creating a new land mark in the school development venture.”
