Several injured in grenade blast in Sopore

BARAMULLA: At least 19 people have been injured after a grenade exploded in Sopore bus stand Monday afternoon.
Even though the market around the bus stand was closed there was a good rush of people and street vendors at the time of blast.
According to Health officials at SDH Sopore, more than 19 people were injured in the incident, with six of them severely injured rushed to Srinagar for treatment.
The officials identified some of the injured as Javaid Ahmad Sofi, Ishfaq Ahamd, Mansoor Ahamd, Mushtaq Ahamd Dar, Muneer Ahmad , Rabia, Barkat, Jabeen, Sumeera, Iram Jan, Adnan, Farooq Ahamd, Nisar Ahamd, Shafat Ahmad Seikh, Abdul Khaliq, Irfan Ahmad, Basharat.
SHO Sopore Mohammad Azam Khan, said twelve persons were injured in the blast with severely injured persons referred to Srinagar for treatment.
The area was cordoned by police and paramilitary forces who conducted searches in the area after the blasr.
Medical Superintendent, SMHS Hospital, Dr Nazir Ahmad Choudary told Kashmir Reader that six persons injured in Sopore blast were being treated at the hospital and were stable.
Earlier, on Saturday a grenade attack outside SMHS Hospital in Srinagar left six paramilitary personnel injured.
