PDP is a creation of agencies, says Hurriyat (G)

Srinagar: Separatist Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Wednesday said that the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP), is a creation of Indian agencies.

Lashing at PDP, Hurriyat (G) said that this party is the creation of agencies and its rhetoric for battle of ideas stand exposed as they have left no stone unturned to curb the voices of dissent.

“They should realize this fact that pellets, bullets and Public Safety Act now stand sign and symbolic for their treacherous politics,” Hurriyat (G) said.

“Since the inception of PDP, they are following dictates from Nagpur and there seems no let-up in pellets and bullets,” Hurriyat (G) said, adding that though pellet gun and chemical weapons are specifically used against wild animals, however, PDP in order to remain in power corridors and appease their masters, used these weapons against innocent and unarmed civilians.

“Their rhetoric for battle of ideas, is nothing but hoax,” Hurriyat (G) said and instead caged people and strangulated their genuine voices.

Slapping PSA against its opponents and youth is its favourite game, Hurriyat said, adding that PDP ‘puppets of Nagpur’ have crossed all limits and turned the Valley into a graveyard.

Hurriyat (G) expressed its deep concern over the deteriorating condition of prisoners, saying they are being subject to political vendetta and no proper medical treatment is provided to the ailing detainees.

Demanding immediate and unconditional release of all prisoners, Hurriyat blamed the administration for unnecessarily prolonging their detention period.

The amalgam also claimed that the authorities during the 2016 uprising booked 600 Kashmiris under PSA.

“More than 300 activists are still languishing in different detention centres and police lockups,’’ said Hurriyat.

The statement said that people bailed out by the courts are not being released. “On one or the other pretext their detention period is prolonged and those bailed out by judiciary are rearrested by police and detained again on fictitious charges and PSA slapped on them.
