A young fast bowler is proving to be yet another sensation in the cricketing field.
Jammu and Kashmir Ranji player Mehjoor Ali Sofi today proved his worth when he bowled for batsmen of king’s XI Punjab during net practice session at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium Bangalore.
Sofi is another budding fast bowler from the state who has been impressive while bowling at the nets against the batsmen of king’s XI Punjab.
The reasonably good pacer, Sofi bowled to the renowned international batmen including Hasima Amla, Glem James Maxell, Martin Guptill and Virender Sehwag.
King’s XI Punjab’s assistant coach and Jammu and Kashmir captain-cum-mentor Mithun Manhas provided him a chance to bowl for batsmen of his team during practice session on net.
Mehjoor Ali in an exclusive chat with Kashmir Vision over phone from Bangalore said it was a wonderful and unforgettable day for me.
“It was pleasure for me to deliver against the players like Hasima Amla, Glem James Maxell, Martin Guptill and Virender Sehwag,” Mehjoor Ali said.
“All the batsmen appreciated and encouraged my efforts,” Mehjoor Ali said.
“After the end of the practice session all the batsmen appreciated me whom I bowled today at the nets. Virender Sehwag called me to the dressing room and had a long chat with me. He appreciated and encouraged me very much and told me give my best always,” an elated Sofi said.
“Sehwag Sir also told me that my hard work will never go in vein,” he added.
“Ups and downs are the part of the life. Focus and concentrate only on your bowling and forget rest of things. Definitely one day you will achieve your goal,” Mehjoor, quoting Sehwag as having said to him.
“I am very thankful to Almighty Allah and my coach. Thanks to Mithun Manhas as well to all my well-wishers for their untiring support,” he said.
Importantly, Mehjoor Ali has been nicknamed as ‘Speed Star’. Besides, being the player of J&K Ranji Cricket team, he has also been part of Rajasthan Royals in 2012 IPL season.
