Police nab absconder evading arrest for 13 years

PULWAMA: The Jammu and Kashmir Police in the Pampore area of the Police district Awantipora announced on Monday that they have arrested an absconder who had been evading arrest for the last 13 years.
According to police officials, the absconder, identified as Tariq Ahmad Lone, son of Ghulam Mohidin Lone and a resident of Tujjar Sharief Sopore, had been evading arrest for a long time. A warrant under section 512 Crpc, issued by the Hon’ble Court of JMIC Pampore, was pending against him at the Pampore Police Station in connection with case FIR number 191/2011.
The arrest of Tariq Ahmad Lone was executed by a special police team of the Police district Awantipora under the supervision of SDPO Pampore, Krishan Rattan, and consisting of SHO Pampore Rashid Khan, among others.
Following the arrest, the accused person was produced before the Hon’ble Court of Law for further legal proceedings.
In a statement, a police official emphasized the consistent actions taken against anti-social elements, reassuring the community members that efforts are being made to keep the society free of crime. The police reiterated their commitment to act in accordance with the law against those who engage in criminal activities.
