PULWAMA: In a significant development for the Private School Association Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK), members of the Pulwama district assembled in large numbers to elect their new district leadership. Mr. Wasim Hanif, Chairman of Solace International School, was elected as the new District President for Pulwama.
The election process was conducted in the presence of the Convenor of the Election Committee, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Ashai along with Mr. Majid Bhatt, member of the Election Committee. Observers from three different districts namely Mr Tahir Wagay. District President Srinagar, Mr Tariq Balli state coordinator PSAJK Mr Shabir Ahmad Malik district coordinator, were also present to ensure transparency and fairness in the proceedings.
Despite prevailing challenges faced by the private education sector, the members participated enthusiastically, reflecting their commitment to strengthening institutional representation. During the proceedings, election representatives highlighted the pressing issues confronting private schools and emphasized the need for collective efforts to address them.
The Ex District President Mr. Khalid Reshi expressed confidence in the newly elected leadership and reiterated his continued support, particularly for low-budget and budget schools. He further emphasized the importance of initiating new training programs and fostering collaborative learning across institutions in the district.
The State President of PSAJK, Dr. Baba Nazrul Islam, extended his congratulations to the newly elected team and expressed hope that the new leadership would work with dedication and integrity.
The election was also observed by noted academician Prof Abdul Hamid Sheikh, former Registrar of Cluster University, who expressed optimism that the new leadership would bring positive changes to the educational ecosystem of Pulwama.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment from members to work collectively for the advancement of private education in the region.
