IBC J&K calls for student engagement on World Water Day

SRINAGAR: The Indian Buildings Congress (J&K Chapter), in collaboration with Government School Yadipora, Pattan, organized a special program to observe World Water Day, emphasizing the critical need to involve students in water conservation efforts.
Er. Irfan Shafi Parray, Honorary Secretary of IBC J&K Chapter, highlighted the increasing pressure on water resources and stressed the importance of adopting sustainable water management practices at both institutional and household levels to ensure future availability.
In his message, Chairman Er. Aamir Ali emphasized that water conservation should be transformed into a youth-driven movement, especially in ecologically sensitive regions like Jammu and Kashmir. He underscored the importance of integrating rainwater harvesting and sustainable water practices into building planning and community infrastructure to promote responsible usage.
Head of the Institution, Abdul Rashid Sheikh, highlighted the vital role of schools in shaping responsible behavior among students and raising awareness about water conservation from a young age.
The event saw active participation from faculty and students, who appreciated the initiative by IBC J&K Chapter in organizing the program and fostering grassroots awareness on water conservation issues.
