Srinagar: Continuing its relentless campaign against drug trafficking and its supporting network, J&K Police has attached a double-storey residential house valued at approximately ₹1 crore under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in Srinagar.
“The property, located in Natipora, is registered in the name of Javid Ahmad Ganie, son of Nazir Ahmad Ganie, resident of Astan Mohalla, Natipora. The accused is a habitual drug peddler involved in FIR No. 23/2025 under sections 8/21, 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Chanapora,” a police spokesperson said in a statement issued here.
Investigation established that the property was acquired using proceeds from illegal narcotics trade. Consequently, the competent authority ordered its attachment under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act.
The attachment was carried out in the presence of the Executive Magistrate 1st Class, Chanapora, ensuring all legal procedures were followed, the spokesperson said. The order also restrains the owner from selling, transferring, altering, or creating any third-party interest in the property.
Police said they are committed to fighting drug crimes and will continue to take strict action against individuals involved in promoting, financing, or facilitating the drug trade.
