SRINAGAR: On the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President, Dr Farooq Abdullah, and Vice President & CM Omar Abdullah, conveyed their heartfelt greetings to the people, wishing them peace, prosperity, and unity.
In his message, Dr Farooq Abdullah reflected on the profound significance of the day, saying, “As the Muslim Ummah comes together in celebration of Eid-ul-Azha, I extend my warmest greetings to everyone. This blessed day commemorates the supreme sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH), who, in his unwavering faith, was prepared to sacrifice his son, Hazrat Ismail (AS), in submission to the will of the Almighty. But Allah’s mercy prevailed, sparing Hazrat Ismail (AS) and providing a ram in his place. This day, therefore, stands as a timeless symbol of sacrifice, devotion, and trust in divine wisdom. It is a moment for us all to reflect on the importance of compassion, generosity, and empathy. Let us come together to uplift the less fortunate and bring joy to those in need. May the spirit of Eid bring solace to the people of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, and may it help ease their burdens.”
