‘Eid prayers at Jama Masjid Srinagar at 9:30 am’

SRINAGAR: Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, extended heartfelt Eid-ul-Adha greetings to the people of Jammu & Kashmir and the Muslim Ummah.
In his message, Mirwaiz said Eid-ul-Adha is a reminder of Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) devotion and sacrifice, teaching us that true qurbani lies in sincerity, taqwa, and selflessness—not just ritual.
He urged people to let this Eid renew their commitment to compassion, justice, and unity, and to serve those in need, especially the underprivileged.
Mirwaiz prayed that Allah accepts all sacrifices and fills hearts with gratitude, patience, and faith.
Meanwhile, Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid Srinagar has announced that the Eid-ul-Adha congregation will be held at the historic Jama Masjid Srinagar tomorrow at 9:30 AM. Prior to the congregational prayers, Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq will deliver the Eid sermon (khutbah) from 8:30 AM, in which he will speak on the philosophy and spirit of Eid and Qurbani (sacrifice).
The Anjuman deeply regrets that authorities once again did not grant permission for holding the Eid congregation at the Eidgah Srinagar, in keeping with the longstanding Islamic tradition and the collective religious sentiment of the people.
Auqaf urges all worshippers to attend the Eid prayers at Jama Masjid in large numbers and partake in the message of unity, sacrifice, and submission to the will of Allah (SWT) that Eid-ul-Adha embodies.
