SKIMS gets DNB accreditation for fellowship in Colorectal Surgery

SRINAGAR: SKIMS achieved a major milestone in the academic arena as the Department of General Surgery got permission to start an accredited DNB fellowship of 2 years duration in Colorectal Surgery.
HOD General & Minimal Invasive Surgery Prof. Ajaz Ahmad Malik thanked Director SKIMS Prof. M. Ashraf Ganie & Dean Medical Faculty SKIMS Prof. Shariq R. Masoodi for their support & guidance. It is a proud moment for this prestigious institution & the Department of General and Minimal Invasive Surgery for achieving this major academic milestone, he added. He also thanked and appreciated contributions & dedication by the colorectal unit including Prof. Fazal Qadir Parray and Prof. Rauf Ahmad Wani.
Director SKIMS Prof. M. Ashraf Ganie congratulated the Department and all its consultants for the academic excellence. He said it is a big achievement as the accredited fellowship is the first of its kind to be started in the country. “This is an acknowledgement for our commitment to academic excellence which is the main and top priority of SKIMS besides patient care. With the introduction of new highly specialised clinical courses will give a major boost to our academic activities further enhancing the standard of teaching/ academic practices at SKIMS,” the Director said.
