Income Tax Deptt Srinagar honors war heroes on 75th Republic Day

Srinagar: The Income Tax Department in Srinagar marked the 75th Republic Day by paying tribute to war heroes, felicitating veer naris, war veterans, and the next of kin of deceased soldiers who made supreme sacrifices for the country.
On the occasion, all income tax offices were adorned with illumination and flowers, exuding a patriotic spirit. Ms. Baljeet Kaur, Commissioner of Income Tax, unfurled the tricolor in Jammu, joined by officers and officials, including Rahul Padha and Ms. Ruveda Salam. A guard of honor was presented by CISF personnel.
In her speech, Ms. Baljeet Kaur emphasized the role of Income Tax in nation-building, urging the department to provide exemplary services to taxpayers. She called upon citizens to remain vigilant and uphold constitutional values.
The celebration extended beyond flag hoisting, with a plantation drive organized in a public park near the railway station. Similar events took place in various locations, including Kathua, Katra, Samba, Rajauri, Baramulla, Anantnag, and Pathankot, where officers participated in cleaning and plantation drives.
In Srinagar, the Republic Day celebration took place at Aakyar Bhawan, Rajbagh, dedicated to honoring war heroes and their dependents in Kashmir. M.P. Singh, IRS, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K, and Ladakh, unfurled the National Flag and presided over the event.
As a gesture of respect and gratitude, the Income Tax Department invited veer naris, war veterans, and next of kin of martyred soldiers as special guests. Local businessmen Surjeet Singh and Inderjeet Singh, owners of Peaks Auto Pvt. Ltd., were also present.
The Chief Guest, M.P. Singh, along with Surjeet Singh and Inderjeet Singh, felicitated war widows, war veterans, and other special guests. The event included a two-minute silence to honor the sacrifices made by brave soldiers.
In his address, M.P. Singh highlighted the significance of Republic Day, urging everyone to rededicate themselves to the values of justice, equality, and liberty. He expressed happiness at meeting war heroes and veer naris, praising their patriotism and emphasizing their role as crucial assets to the nation.
The event concluded with a pledge to uphold the integrity and sovereignty of the country. Participants were urged to contribute to the overall development of the nation and embrace the path of peace and prosperity. The celebration ended with a high tea and refreshments for all attendees.
